The Ontario Veterinary College provides a hip and elbow certification service that is similar to OFA.
Dogs must be over the age of 18 months and x-rayed in the same position of OFA.
The certification system is a basic pass/fail. OFA Fair does not usually pass the OVC system. If you are currently using the OFA system, an OVC pass would basically mean the dog's hips are either Good or Excellent.
In Q's case, the three vets that examined his hip x-rays prior to their submission to OVC stated that he would probably get an "excellent" rating from OFA. Tight sockets, hardly any small idiosyncrasies on ball or socket.
