Standards

Certification Testing, 2006--Three dog/handler teams certified to K9SARNL standards under Maya Nussli, evaluator from REDOG in Switzerland.  Ms. Nussli has 25+ years experience certifying dogs to air scenting, tracking, avalanche, and disaster dog standards in Europe.  Ms. Nussli has been an active dog handler and SAR volunteer for 30+ years, filling roles ranging from search dog handler to mission leader.  Her deployments include several earthquakes, mudslides, avalanches, wilderness and other situations.   She has been on hundreds of call-outs in her role as a dog handler and has evaluated hundreds of other handlers for approval to deploy.

K9SARNL standards have been designed with the specifics of Newfoundland and Labrador life, climate, and terrain in mind. 

K9SARNL is willing to offer team services to the following agencies:  RCMP, RNC, Parks Canada, Coast Guard, Canadian Armed Forces.  Please contact us for more information.

*As our relationship with the SAR community in Newfoundland and Labrador develops, we anticipate that the RCMP will require that our dog/handler teams also complete RCMP Civilian Search and Rescue Dog certifications.  We look forward to working with the RCMP.
