Demonstrations
Please feel free to contact us if you wish to
have more information about our growing organization, or would like
to volunteer (you don't need to have a dog to help us out!). We are
available for public demonstrations for all age groups that give
safety information (how to not get lost in the first place and what
to do if you DO get lost so that you increase your chances of
staying alive and well!) For children under the age of about 12, we
use the RCMP Hug-A-Tree video and worksheets, for other age groups a
talk with demonstrations. Of course we always bring a dog or two
along and demonstrate how dogs use their noses to find (volunteers
from your group) in the woods!
Deploying Our Team
Searches for lost or missing persons in this
province are under the authority of RCMP, RNC, Parks Canada, and the
Canadian Coast Guard. The deployment of ANY resource on an official
search is the choice of the Search Commander/Search Manager in
charge of that particular search. We are still establishing
relationships with call-out agencies and the Newfoundland and
Labrador Search and Rescue Association.
SAR dogs are recognized worldwide as a
valuable first-response tool in the search for lost and missing
persons. Our team is working toward becoming a usable
resource for this province.
If you have questions about deploying our
dogs, you may phone (24 hours):
