Pedigree indicates what the animal should be.
Conformation indicates what the animal appears to be.
But Performance indicates what the animal actually is.

AuxArcs Australian Shepherds

AuxArcs (pronounced "Ozark") is a name that reflects my childhood home of the Arkansas Ozarks, along with the Quebecois/Canadian French influence in my life now.

I breed very rarely and with an eye to several components--mental and physical soundness, longevity, minimal genetic health risks in the pedigree, working ability, and low inbreeding coefficients.  I am trying to establish a line of dogs that have exceptional working capabilities along with good health and conformation so that myself and other breeders will have options in the future for preserving the breed without bottlenecking the gene pool.

As you read the pages that describe my dogs, you will see that I list what I consider faults as readily as what I consider positive things about my dogs.  This is because I believe that a) no dog is without faults and b) it is better for the breed as a whole for breeders to be as up-front as possible about the true attributes of the dog.

You can read more about what to expect from an AuxArcs dog at the litters page

My overall training focus now is Search and Rescue (with Cy and Presto).  However, I have a strong background in dog sports.  Competition is generally unavailable to me on a regular basis (closest show of any kind is 8+ hours away).  Working ability is tested as much as possible on local farms.

The three males listed below are standing at stud to approved bitches.  Please visit their individual pages to see more details, and also visit the "Stud Dog Information" for a quick overview of the qualities which I feel should be considered when making a breeding decision.  GUESS WHAT!!!  I openly share what I consider faults!  Click here to check it out.
