Sebastian, ARPH #11924

Smart as a whip, playful, and energetic as the day is long, perceptive, bouncy, cuddly, fluffy…and happy happy happy!  Sebastian is a youngish 2 year old neutered double merle (or pattern white) male.  His puppy-like play was a bit too rough and tumble for his first family and they found him a challenge to train, perhaps because of his deafness.  He’s currently learning sign language at an uncanny rate, however, and is endearingly eager to please and oh-so-anxious to be worked with.  Sebastian is an exceptionally pretty boy with a beautiful thick bear-like merle coat tinged with copper and his eyes are an irresistible sparkling baby blue.  He will require a patient, attentive home with a traditionally fenced yard to keep him safe and happy.  When outside secure areas he will always need to be on a leash.  Since Sebastian is relatively new to the program and to his foster home, who is experienced with training and handling deaf dogs, we are still assessing his personality and preferences as well as his hearing/vision abilities.  There is a possibility that Sebastian has limited hearing in one ear, and although he's a great tennis-ball catcher there is a chance that his long-distance vision may not be perfect.  We’ll post updates soon.  For more details on Sebastian please contact Catherine (catfox2@yahoo.com).
